No backfiring. I would assume that if fuel was in the cat or exhaust for that matter the exhaust might smell like the engine was running rich but it doesnt. Never backfired or anything. We dont...

My wife and I love ours. Its 10 years old and seems to be in great shape so far. Of course we dont have some of the fancier stuff that the 4.4's have like the self leveling suspension and what not....
