Great tires so far, quiet and handling seems to be pretty solid. Not many miles on them yet, but the few we do have on them have been with no complaints. expect a long term evaluation in the future.

Just an update: Now have 13,000 miles on the Lattitudes over several interstate trips. Everything remains the same from initial impression. We also had our first "winter" event here in OK - freezing rain then sleet followed by a bit of snow. Never had a problem, so for all season performance, give these boys a try.

I'm waiting on the Tour HP's to come in... |
My wife's E70 4.8 just turned 16k miles and we got a puncture in one of the Dunlops. Found a tire shop that said they would patch it...until they looked at them and saw there was too much tread gone. Only got 16k on the Dunlops for a soccer mom car - yikes!?!?! So, I want to go with a new set of Michelin Latitude Tour HP's, but are they run flats? We don't have a spare, so the RFT's are a necessity (unfortunately).
|
Nope...Latitudes are not runflats.
I have to agree that the Latitudes are very good. I had my doubts at first about getting them because they have a much narrower footprint when compared with my previous Pirelli Scorpion Asym. But these tires put my doubts to rest last week on my snowboard trip up to the mountains. It performed very well on snow/ice, slush, mud (and lots of muds), and rain. Dry performance has to go to the Pirellis, however. |
The benefit you get from Latitude is that they are WET/SNOW/SUMMER tires. Diamaris are exclusively summer tires. So you can keep your summer wheel set on with the Latitudes in winter (not recommended but it still works)

I have 23K miles on my Michelin Latitudes (runflats) and they have plenty of tread left on them. Good all season tire.

How do the latitudes compare in performance against the diamaris? I currently have the diamaris' on my 05 4.4. Do the latitudes perform as well in cornering? They seem like a great option to replace the diamaris' with. They are not very versatile tires where the latitudes seem like they cover the whole spectrum. Thanks for any input.
