Diamaris to Latitude Tour HP
Anybody moved from the Diamaris' (offset) OEM's for the Lattitdue Tour HP's? Comments, reactions, etc? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the overwhelming endorsements - just kidding!!
So, today I replaced the OEM Diamaris's (approaching 37,000 mi/ 59,545 km) with Latitude Tour HP's (sorry to those of you getting ready for your 3rd set of Diamaris' at this point). Given the weather around here, I need something a little more forgiving than summer tread/compound. I will report back from time-to-time to give you updates. I am getting ready for a 1500 mi trip shortly so will have some immediate feedback. |
have you considered the Toyo Proxes S/T?? they seem to have great reviews on wet and snowy conditions.... just wondering since i'm also swapping out tires....

drod,
I have read all the reviews that I can on all the forums. My take ... First, I have a bias to Michelin, have owned all the OEM US guys, + Pirelli, Conti, Toyo, etc. So far with BMW's, best combo is w/Michelin. More importanly, being an "old fart", I want performance, wear and value (don't want to replace every 25k mi) for the money. Can Toyo do this, don't really know - there was a lack of overwhelming evidence to get me to change. This is what companies want from a consumer - return business. I am on my 5th BMW, my (can't count ) set of Michelin's ... I have yet to be disappointed in either case. More later... |
I just saw your post. I misfired and posted in the general x5 forum.
Let me know what you think of the Latitude please. Thanks Here is my previous post. I need to replace my wifes X5 tires (20" Wheels). I am looking at the all season Michelin Latitude Tour HP. There are only a couple of reviews on tire rack about these tires, so I am looking for some first hand experience. We live in Fort Campbell KY; so the weather is that split mess of just enough winter temps and precip to make the All season tire a good option. There just isnt enough winter here to warrant a full set of winter / snow tires. Any first hand opinions about these tires Pros / Cons, will be greatly appreciated. Tire size limits my options. 275/40ZR20 315/35ZR20 Thanks Dallas |

what's the HP stand for?

Guess we have to ask Michelin, but my WAG is "high performance". Or if you are watching the infomercials at 4:00 in the morning and taking extendz, it could mean huge pe*^% , and the mind could wander further from here ....:flame:

Okay, just finished a 1500 mile round trip and love the tires (as posted earlier). Trip back was in clear weather. With no noise (Diamairs' was pretty noisy) I could actually hear the sweet sound of the exhaust. Five stars for these tires - so far.
