19" ?

I may be wrong, but I think this is because the X5 and the land rover are the only vehicles that used 19" truck tires. Since the newer models don't anymore, the price of replacing them in the future will continue to climb. It is time to move to and 18" or 20" or some more common rim size.

I'm going to need new tires soon and I checked BJ's for Michelin Latitude HP's. $407.00 for the 315 35 20's rear and $365.00 for the 275 40 20's front. That includes mounting, balancing and road hazard warranty. That's about the best deal I can find unless someone can tell me otherwise.

Maybe check tirerack.com, that was the best price I could find. If you can find a better deal, it'll only cost you a few dollars to get them mounted and balanced. Good luck...

Tire rack wants $1608.00 plus shipping and I'd still have to get them mounted and balanced.

You gotta remember that the 19's can be more expensive than 20's because they are not as common of a size. Bigger isn't always more expensive as far as tires are concerned. $1,100+/- is not bad for 19" (4.4i sport package size) Proxes S/T II's installed.

True. I am shopping for a new set of 19" tires to replace my Yokohama Advans that have badly worn rear inside tread. (Damn that negative camber!) Advans in 19" run about $244 with Contis and some Pirellis being about $20 to $35 more each. :tsk:

I would be looking for about $1100 out the door from America's/Discount Tire.

Paid a little too much, but you can't get those tires installed for less than about $1050 by a reputable shop in my area (02 4.4i sport package that is). Does that price include an alignment, nitrogen, high-speed on-car balancing or anything besides basic install?

Good choice though. The new tread pattern is supposed to have eliminated tire noise as they wear. I will be going ST II's as well in the next few months.

Also, tires are supposed to be replaced in pairs at minimum. Only good time to replace just one is when there is only VERY minimal wear/mileage on the other tire on the same axle.

The wheel is actually balanced while on the vehicle and run at about 120 mph speeds. Basically, it takes everything into consideration that spins, not just the wheel and tire.

Interesting, sounds quite gimmicky though. I've driven at those speed on tires that have just been properly road force balanced. It was fine....
