Thanks for the tip, I'll probably give those selling suggestions a shot.
Thankfully I won't be short a vehicle as I can drive my SRT8 Jeep until the ///M arrives.
The only reason I haven't attempted to sell the 4.8is is becauase I need to know the exactly how much it will be out the door. Given the ecomony, etc... this purchase is a real streach, so every dollar counts. The only reason I'm considering this truck is because I've been waiting for an ///M model ever since I purchased my first X5 in '00.

Me 2.... Me 2....

and to be perfectly honest.. I don't know if I'm going to be able to wrangle the deal I want.. But I'm still going to fight for $500 over invoice on purchase price.

Or I'm going to wait a while until I can get that number.

Wow good luck on that $500 over invoice on one of those most anticipated BMWs---I figure they will be gone before they even hit the lot in most major metro areas (and those will be the only dealers that probably get them).

Me 3... :D ...Especially after hearing about the LeMans X5.

What are your thoughts in comparison of the SRT8 vs 4.8iS? I recently saw a rendering for the 2012 SRT8 with a potential 6.4L hemi V8. I'm curious if it will qualify Chrysler's business-case, considering their financial dilemma.

Not sure about that. It is a different market these days. M5, M6s are tough sell. There are still lots of new 2008 M5 and M6 sitting around at dealers. X5 and X6 are in almost same range. Deals to be made now.

Only 20 X5Ms coming to this country (and 25 X6Ms), and stealerships have approximately 2-3 persons on waiting lists for each type. What they have done here, is award M-stealership status to particular dealers, these will then get a preferential allocation. Both models are pretty loaded but expensive.

Cheers,

True the economy is down but M5 and M6 have been out for a few years--not exactly a lot of buzz around them. This is brand new M and people have been waiting on this--deposits will be put down before they are even built. MAYBE next year sometime there will a better allocation of them but by then the economy should be off and running.

^ my local dealership has an `08 M5 they can't seem to give away, last I checked I think they were advertising $12,000 off...

EDIT: Scratch that, MSRP $94,120, Internet price $77,989, little over $16,000 off. And they already have 2010 model 5 series cars on the lot...
