Just an update. Got a call from my dealer, and they are having a very difficult time getting used Turbo's to interested buyers. With production cut by Porsche, these are holding their value much better than expected. They are gonna buy mine back, and effectively I take a $5000 loss from trade. Took a long look at the 2012 X5M, but ultimately decided to stick with the Cayenne. Here is my order:
2012 Cayenne Turbo Sand White Espresso/Cognac full natural leather Sport Package Premium Package plus Panoramic roof Mirrors painted exterior colour Stainless steel front/rear skid plates 21 inch Turbo II wheels with coloured wheel crests Porsche crests front/rear Rear seat entertainment Voice control Telephone module Burmester High End Surround Sound Compass Display dash Thermally insulating side and windscreen glass Tow hitch Cargo Mgmt Natural Olive wood interior 3 spoke sport steering wheel with paddles Exterior trim in black Porsche Carbon Ceramic Brakes (:excited:) So, June build with July delivery. Very excited. Will post some new pics when it arrives end of July or first of August. |
Jason,
I am confused. I thought you had an X5M that BMW bought back and got the Cayenne Turbo. So it Porsche buying that one back also? M |
My dealer has a large clientele interested in used. So, they have contacted some of their turbo buyers to ask if they would be interested in trade in and new purchase. I was thinking about adding the PCCBs anyway, and the price difference for the trade and new order would be about the same.
So, I took them up on their offer. This is what I would have ordered if I had the opportunity. Thought about the Jet Black exterior, but white is soooooo much easier to care for. J |
How long have you had it? Could not be more than 2 months?

Interesting...so you are saying that the porsche clientele who are coughing up close to 130K for their cars rather pick a used one and save 5K or so?!?!
That makes no sense what so ever, good for you though if there is no catch |
Hey Jason, what's included in your sport and premium packages? Your going to like the PCCB option! We'll both be posting pics in August.......

Yeah, it totally is a benefit to the dealer. There are so few production slots. They are ust having problems with inventory, and they have people who are looking at used vs new. Very few Turbos in general (New or Used). This gives me an opportunity to get a custom build, which is what I wanted but didn't have time to get.
Can't wait for the PCCBs. Was thinking about the Panamera, but decided not to do that. Like the performance and utility of the Cayenne. Have had the car 5 months. |
