Exhaust Popping on Deceleration

I have 700 miles on my X5M, and although I am doing my best to abide by the break-in recommendations, I have noticed when the M button is pressed, I get a popping/burbling sound from the stock exhaust on deceleration. The sound is particularly prevalent when decelerating in 2nd and 3rd gears. Has anyone else experienced this? Am I simply overreacting?

is it crackling?

Not sure what you mean by crackling and if/how that differs from popping/burbling

When I am in M mode. I get a deep pop on the 1-2 shift and the 2-3. I never heard it loud on deceleration. Unless maybe you are at a high RPM and just get off the gas. But it is nothing like the pop on the 1-2/2-3 upshifts

If you let off the gas suddenly, the exhaust does give a pop sounds. It's normal. I think it will only do it in sport mode too.

Yes, that's simply a bit of unburnt gas igniting in the cats. Stop over-thinking things, it's a great sound.

Appreciate the feedback everyone.
