#2 and 3, were both fixed by replacing the entire exhaust. Apparently there was a leaking vacuum hose or something that caused the rattling as well as the squeak noise when I turned the car off. Got a brand new exahust. It did not fix the lack of power I was experiencing. And after driving it for a few weeks, I noticed there was an excessive amount of carbon soot buildup on only the left side exhaust. Took it back to the dealer and they said I had a bad fuel injector. The engine seems to have more power now, but it still doesn't seem to be back to where I thought it was. Also, my problem about the exhaust not being as loud in M mode is still an issue. They said it's "normal" but i'm sure if they had another X5M to drive, they would see that it's not. The intermittent high pitch wine, of course, never happens when I'm on a drive with the tech, so they couldn't fix that. Oh and they replaced the battery. Said some of the cells had failed. That's it. I also spoke to the service manager when I picked the car up and he said when they change the battery, they have to flash all the electronics to the newest software. I think the only thing I notice is that it shifts better when coming to a short stop. Before it would start in 2nd then shift to 1st then back to 2nd. Now it seems to just stay in 2nd unless you really floor it. |
Knock On wood mine is fixed. It was some cable that was draining the battery. They replaced both battery and cable and all is right in the world again.
