Consumption is being reduced when driven off traffic.Today i checked the tire pressures and it was 0,7psi below standard,ie the manufacturer says 2,0 front and
2,2 back psi and mine was about 1,5 in each tire. Why the tire system of the car didnt warn me for the loss of pressure?
And something else,i drove the car in snow conditions without chains
and i didnt have any problem, the x drive didnt engage at all.The only thing was at 5 kilometres/h when braking very gently the car was slipping. The road surface wasnt icy just fresh snow.

Low tire pressure could definitely hurt your fuel consumption. The tire monitoring system indicates a pressure difference in one tire, which is why you have to initialize it after you check them manually. See your owner's manual for more details.

Your X-Drive is always engaged; the DSC system is likely what didn't engage. It applies a brake to a slipping wheel. Glad to hear it dealt with the snow OK.

Thank you.If am not mistaken if the x drive is engaged a 4x4 yellow warning light
comes on and also i think you can hear or sense it,like the abs when engaged.

Nope. xDrive is permanently engaged and is always working.

The 4x4 light under the DSC symbol is a misnomer. When it flashes, DSC is actively regulating the drive forces in addition to xDrive. If it is constantly on, then DSC has either malfunctioned or is shut off via the dash switch.

Ummm....that is 50% worse consumption, not better.

I drive mine 4,4 x5 on 14,1l/100km that includes urban and highway. What i have noticed is that the frequent stops will make car consume mutch more fuel, it is a heavy car, and you nead a bit more fuel to get it moving :)

BTW i am amaised that you can get 12,8 out of a 3,0 X5

To view instant consumption, you may dive into the hidden on-board computer functions. Start with the vehicle off, key out.

1. With your left hand, hold the S/R button in the instrument panel, while turning the key to position 1. The OBC will read "test __"

2. At this point, keep pushing the S/R button until you reach "19._". Then, it will alternate between on and off. When it shows off, push the S/R button until it shows "4._"

3. After a second or so, it should show "4.0 _ _ _ _ _ ". You may start the vehicle at this point. Numbers should show up in the blanks as you accelerate. This is instant fuel consumption. "136" translates to 13.6 l/100km. Note that with a cold engine, fuel consumption is substantially higher.

4. Under light acceleration, fuel consumption should spike at the beginning, around 50-80 l/100km, and it should steadily decrease. At highway speeds on a flat gradient, it should be between 6-11 l/100km cruising at 100km/h.

5. When you coast and let off the throttle at anything above 50km/h, the consumption should drop to 0 (and the thing should read "000"). This applies to manual transmission vehicles and '07+ X3s with the newer automatic transmission with earlier torque converter lock up.

Not working

I currently get 13,1 l/100kms:thumbup:
Today i changed the oils at 10000 kms so the oil intervals
are set in Greece every 10 000 kms despite the longlife oils
and bmws suggestions. How long to you keep your oil?
Also,a software update was installed for the gearbox.
