gives you 41,900.00 out the door or as you say it "drive out"......Its almost end of the month. Consumer spending is down. They will give in.

they just called and they can go $2k below invoice,. which come to at $40.700+ (6.25%) TTL = $43,243.75 still..:nervous:

still haven't a chance to drive it yet..

Is this a highly comment problem in the 07?

Go to the Bimmerfest X3 section. It got out of hand so I requested that the mod make a sticky for it.

I don't think every '07 X3, or even half, have it. But it's sizeable enough that a handful of folks out there have it, especially if that many people complain about it, even if it is a forum. There have been buy-backs and lemon-law cases. I'm reluctant to cave in to pressure based on voluntary responses alone, but in this case I personally do not recommend an '07 or early '08 X3 equipped with an automatic to friends or family.

Dealers claim there's nothing wrong with it. But clearly, the adaptive transmission and the corresponding software doesn't function properly. In fact, most problems occur AFTER the transmission has relearned for the initial 1000mi.

The previous 5AT is solid and works very well. It shifts smoother, changes more responsively, and doesn't jerk you and your neck around. My X3's automatic works brilliantly even though Charlottesville is in a mountainous region. It's actually better than the 6AT on my mom's '06 325i.

words I've learn to use when dealing with stealers when numbers are not to far apart- MEET ME HALF WAY. More often then not they will accept. Don't believe the invoice(discount) numbers they throw at you. They are still making money on it. Stealers do not have an invoice price on loaners, WHY? because they have own it since day 1 and you not are buying the car new ....Good luck.

humm good point.. I think they are getting a bit edgy.. cuz it so close to the end of the month..

I also hear that all Euro car price will be going up on April 10th.. anyone hear this.. Due to the increase in Euro's vs USD

On the X3 Tranny.,

I email my local BMW about it.. and this is what they said,

"
I actually haven't seen really anything wrong with the 08, some 07's had a slight hesitation, but was cured by resetting adaptations. If there is a complaint, BMW will send out their transmission engineer (there is one locally here) to observe and record the EGS.

You should be fine. Nothing to worry about."

I would expect a LOT more than $2K under invoice for a one yr old used car with 7K.

It should be priced as a used car - looks at cars.com etc. to see what they are asking for in your area.
Also, check on this site or bimmerfest to see what the actual invoice price was for this car in '07 with all the options to make sure they are not blowing smoke....

How about warranty - when does it expire?

Good luck

That's actually a better response than I'd suspect from a CA, good job for him/her. Most folks who ask about it get the "Never heard about it." response even from their service advisor. Do you really think they're going to say "Yea, there's a couple of bad apples in the field."? Some folks have gotten all SIBs done and do not have a solution. Others have gotten the SIB done and the issue resolved. Still others have no issues at all.

I'm not saying to avoid the car. Just please, take a test drive to be sure.

A sales rep's job is to sell you a car. Your job is to love the way it drives. Do your job.

That looks like BMW of Houston North........ I've bought 4 vehicles from them..... Who's your sales person over there?

That price still seems high for a) a demo b) a year old BMW......... 1 year of depreciation is a LOT on these cars. How much more is it to buy a an 08? Is Euro delivery an option? I bought my 525 through them last year and did Euro delivery. Absolutely the best way to buy a BMW.
