That's a terrible thing to say? How can you say that?

An X3 is not a man's or woman's car. While it happens that there may be more male X5 drivers than X3 drives is irrelevant since not all drivers go online to forums like these.

And furthermore, many men would pick the X3 over the X5.

In my area (Central/Southern NH) I'd say that about 75% of X5 drivers are women... So it's not just the "big boys".. But I'd say it's about 50/50 with the X3. I've noticed in the Boston area, though, that a lot of men drive X5s.

I've seen 2 dudes and probably 25-30 women in X3's around here, including my neighbors who like clams.

In vegas too..

Las Vegas my dealer says that the X5 is very strong with female buyer's and X3 with the younger crowds male and female. :loco:

I still believe cars are made for the drivers taste you may fall in love with a car thats is mostly design for older people like the Cadillacs or the younger public like the Mini's.

Its a matter of taste not sex.

Naaaa. The "smart" boys ride in the X3 with bigger volume on the inside for our gear and toys, and handling that makes the X5 feel like grandma's station wagon in comparison. Plus we get to keep more pesos in our pants so we can buy more toys :D

In all seriousness, the X5 is the hauler. The X3 is the "Driver's" car.

In L.A. it seems that the X5 3.0 and X3 2.5 are popular with women, and X5 4.4 or X3 3.0 are more popular with men. It seems that women are more impress by the BMW safety/reliability factor, where men want more powerfull cars. I guess it's probably true with most cars/brands. Also studies have shown that women are less likely to spend more money in cars than men do, then again most men I know don't have closets full of shoes

Sory, but THIS board is the only place I "see" men driving X5's! Whenever I prepare myself to wave or flash, I dont bother because they are all 4' 10" women peeking over the dash...I met one guy in my local pub the other day who had a 3.0d parked outside..I bought him a pint and tried to sell him a TiAg grille..He told me where to go...

Haaa haaa.... that's exactly right now that I think about it. The X5 is the family vehicle for mother's to cart their kids around in and go shopping (the "Hauler" as I referred to it in a previous post). I've actually seen far more men driving around in X3's than women (about 5:1)

Well, we may be typical family: I have the X5. My wife has the X3. Make of that what you will... :D
