The roof has one area about about a 1/4 round where hard maple sap has etched the top. Rails have lost it's coating. Then front clip, I've touched up through the years on the minute rock bits you get on the leading edge towards the front windshield..
I hear you on the value, but at the 6 year mark of ownership, I knew it was either a keeper or a tosser....meaning, when I sold it, it was not going to be worth anything anyhow, so resale meant nothing to me. I don't buy used so I know what I'm *getting into*. |
I had my rails powder coated. About $80 and they look great and is much more durable than painting them.
|
^Agreed I am getting the rails powdercoated as well.

I was planning to PC them this summer....but by luck, the X ended in the shop - some debris hit it. Did not even notice it, until it was parked and a quarter size dent/ding was on the hood and fender.
The roof actually turned out to what I thought it would have been...somewhere around $800 and another $175 for the rails.....he's getting paid a ton already....for what he got the adjuster to pay, so it all worked out, I suppose, and my OOP for the additional was more inline with what I thought. |
I'm finding that PC'ing parts by pricing is all over the place. Guy local to me told me $250 to PC the rails, does that sound high?
|
250 is high....he did not want the job or the time involved was worth $250 to him....
My PC is pretty awesome when it comes to wheels. When I gave him a set of 4 AC Hydraulic jackstands, I think there were about $40 each . |
I got 4 style 69 rims and my rails done for 480, a 100/wheel and 80 for the rails. My valve covers for 120
