Final State Resistor/Unit

Just want to make sure I've got this right.

My blower intermittently stops working. With summer coming this will suck in a black car, so I'm thinking it's probably the FSU/FSR.

It this it? #3 in :rolleyes:this

Yup. I got a OEM one off amazon for $50 shipped FYI. Then if for whatever reason it turns out to not be the issue you can easily return it without paying shipping.

Thanks, guys. Will try that test, if I can get the blower running again. Hoping it's not the blower.

Don't buy the cheap knock off ones. Go with OEM/original part.

OEM original part isn't a thing. Original part would be OE (original equipment, BMW branded box). OEM (original equipment manufacturer) would be the company that made the part for BMW, and in this case is probably Behr or Bosch.

Was referring to the genuine part as there are a bunch of knock offs for under $20 shipped. I'm not sure who makes the original part. If it's BMW branded or Behr Bosch Valeo ect. As long as he stays away from he knock offs he will be fine.

I'd buy a few used (but BMW Genuine) FSRs on ebay.
I bought qty =2, about $15/each.
Keep an extra FSR on glovebox as spare.

No need to buy new (which is $100 or so).

Stay away from aftermarket for now.

FSR , grabbed one from a wrecker for $10, bonus was I got to "practice" taking one out!! Plus they offered a 'parking lot ' guarantee on the part! :)
They're a bit tricky to access, but there's a few YouTube vids and some tutorials on how to do it!
