Ok so now I have an appointment at BMW Newport to get software update and tranny reflash. Appointment for the 28th so I'll report when it's done. Thanks for the help.

Does this have to be done at a BMW dealer or can you do it yourself?

As far as I know at the dealer. Flat rate $109.00, that's not bad.
