Eonon Nav/DVD/CD unit

I have a 2005 X5 and I'm trying to install this POS head unit. I followed the other DSP work around I found on here and it doesn't work. I have the extension cable I bought from Eonon and routed it from the Head unit back to the rear near the AMP. My problem is no sound at all. I'm guessing the head unit is not turning on the AMP

Any help would be great!! EONON customer service is an absolute joke.

Thanks

Kale

subscribing, and will share any supportive links if I find some.

Did you have to 'grind down' the bottom corners of the unit to fit it in your dash? From photos, it looks like this deck has sharp corners down there, and they should be rounded to fit nicely.

When you buy cheap junk, you get cheap junk. I mentioned to Scott in his thread, get an older Dynavin D99+ if you don't care about having the newest features or if you don't have DSP, its a great unit. And probably under $500 now that the N6 is out

EDIT: I see you said you have DSP. If you didn't buy the Eonon and try a workaround (which costs a ton of money anyway) you could have avoided all that and bought a Dynavin N6 for $700 and not had to screw with anything

Plus you'd get a better replacement unit as well

Top of unit fits nice, but the bottom will require some trimming, the back edge of unit hits the plastic mounts from the old NAV unit. Then I'm not sure how to secure it solid - but I won't be doing anything more until I can get sound :(

Did you buy the unit directly from Eonon? Their website has live chat and I found them pretty responsive whenever I had issues with the eonon on my E39.

The downside is the time difference- they're online after 10pm Pacific Time. Also Alice their customer service rep responds promptly to emails. It sounds like you're dealing with an Eonon reseller?

I bought the unit on ebay, and the extension directly from Eonon, it appears they both have the same user names. I think they are the same people. Ebay seller and the Eonon contact used this name : liebeschwein [[email protected]]

You may be encountering issues related to your X5 having DSP. To confirm that, I would temporarily hook up loose speakers to the Eonon's speaker level outputs, and listen for audio.

That's a reseller who is just any Tom, Dick or Harry buying the units at a discount and reselling them on Ebay/Amazon. Always buy directly from the manufacturer or official authorized reseller which for Eonon I believe there's no authorized reseller/distributor in North America unlike Dynavin. Eonon may refuse or drag their feet in helping you if you don't buy directly from them, but just give it a shot at www.eonon.com/ email contact is [email protected]

Eonon have tried to help, they also have the same email as the ebay seller. Pretty sure its Eonon
