FCPeuro is a legitimate site. If you shop around you'll find that Behr aux fan is about that price.

Did you try what I suggested? Put a box fan in front of the car
blowing air into it and start it up cold. If the AC works, then it's further proof that it's the fan. But if it doesn't, it might indicate that something
else is keeping it from starting initially. If it's the fan it's an odd
failure mode, where it won't start initially, but later runs OK. Did you
try exercising it with INPA after you've driven it and when it presumably
should be working?

Regarding FCP, I haven't ordered from them, but I've seen others
here who have and I have no reason to believe they aren't reputable.
I would have ordered, but the couple of times I was in the market,
it just turned out there were better deals, or some other vendor had
the other widget I needed too, etc. Actually, now that I think about it,
a poster here few weeks ago reported that he bought some cheaper
CV axles from them, had a problem with them, and FCP gave him full
credit for them towards better ones and even paid for part of the labor
cost. Never heard anyone do that. I also think they have a lifetime
warranty on all their parts? If so, that alone would be reason to get
the fan there.......

So I tried the box fan but that did not help. Also the box fan I have is a super quiet one which does have the airflow CFM like the shop fans.
I also tried the INPA after driving the car around and interestingly could not get the fan to activate. Even more interesting is as soon I unplugged iNPA I heard the fan turn on automatically for a few seconds. So I loaded up GT1 and tried to activate the electric fan. And once I pressed the activate button the fan activated and kept picking up speed and I thought it was going to blow up as I have never heard it run at that speed before. So now that leads me to believe that the fan is not bad after all. Back to the drawing board. Any other suggestions?

Sounds like a bad controller board for the fan. Doesn't work all the time and when activated with GT1 it spins too fast.

Bad controller board equal new fan.

I may be having some similar problems. AC nice and cold at first then it seems that the ductwork cuts off the output to the dash no matter what the settings. Even if I go to manual and fan is blowing hard (can hear the fan speed increase) very little output in the dash registers (or seemingly floor or window either). Anybody had similar symptoms. This is the model of controller with the "rest" button not "max" button. 2001

That actually does make sense. It slows down over the first 10 minutes or so and "comes right back to life" with a 10 minute rest stop with high ambient temp. I'll report back
