2000 X5 heater control module replacing

My module was working on and off, already changed out the final stage relay and no improvident. it was recommended that I replace the heater control module. Seeing how a new one was almost $700.00 i opted to buy a hopefully good working used module. Mine is a 12 pin and does not have the MAX settings. That said does this need to be coded to the car now ? I read when I u tubed replacing it that it might need to be programmed ?? :dunno::dunno:

I would love the get your defective HVAc control module and see if I can figure out why it isn't working. The HVAC modules were a high failure rate item on the old E36 3-series and the fix was very easy. I have heard of several people say theirs went out on their X5, but, have not been able to get ahold of a dead unit.
