Can anyone confirm that a euro version e53 equipped with an ech2, lowers from off-road mode at 50kmp?

Does anyone know if the ech2 module, in an e53, is flashable?

Does anyone here have any experience with winkfp? Or better, you might have a daten file from the ech2 on a euro model that was extracted with winkfp.

Basically where I'm at now is digging into the ehc2 with winkfp. This program will pull a different file (flash file? Or flashable file) and allow me to modify the flash. If I had a different flash file from a module (euro?) with a different activation speed, this task would become somewhat easy at that piont.

According to Realoem, the Euro E53 models use the same EHC2 module, part number ending 999. The Euro models also appear to use the same GM3 modules as US. So I don't think there's any difference in the way they operate.

The EHC2 modules are not flashable with WinKFP. There are Daten files for diagnostics, but nothing that can be updated. The only thing I can think of is that there are options (activ/nicht activ) in the trace file that control this. NCS Dummy doesn't have explanations for several options. It must be one of those (if it's possible).

Part number will be the same. The code/program/flash/ whatever you want to call it, can and is sometimes different.

Example would be the GM module that comes on a us spec car would not have windows up via key fob, euro spec cars (Acording to my knowledge) do. So the same part number would do different things. I beleive the code/program is labeled on each module, but again I could be wrong on that.

Have you tried to flash an EHC module?

I'm not sure about that. Every module has unique hardware and software numbers. In revisions of any module, hardware may stay unchanged, but if software changes then the module will be given a new part number from BMW. Since the US and Euro models share the same part number, I would argue that they are the exact same coding (unless otherwise dictated by the car's ZCS). But the ZCS has nothing about when the EHC2 module does what.

The module can't be flashed in Winkfp. The only modules on an E53 that can be flashed are engine, trans, ABS, transfer case, and vanos. Navigation can be updated via update CD. That's it.

The only way this can be done in my opinion is via the trace file using NCS Expert. Otherwise, in INPA, the activate/modes screen has lots of different modes that I've never tried. I'm not sure what any of them do but one or two. Does someone want to experiment?

So you feel that say a GS8 tranny module in our e53's would have the same coding as a GS8 in an e38? Or just the same coding for each module, in the same model car?

May be I can start a new thread to ask euro owners what options they have. This would confirm or denie a different coding.
