What Module Controls The ECH2?
Goal: Change the speed at which the "off road" ride setting disengages.
The ECH2 trace file pulled with NCS shows basically nothing. So I would think the command to drop the car back down to normal height at 50 kph is coming from another module, it has to be. I'm looking for direction as in which module to search in and further more what to look for. I was thinking I would see a "50kph" some where, but I have yet too. I'm thinking it is going to involve a "wert" value change. Thanks! |

The EHC2 module monitors speeds and various from the k-bus and/or CAN bus. I would be surprised if this was a programmable feature.
Since it is not a dedicated signal (like a compressor temp signal, for example), I'm not so sure it's going to be spoof able. I know my car is not pleased if I have the height too high and am going 60 per. I've had it up and rolling, and I can feel it in the wheel. I figure if I can feel it, my CV joints are pissed at me. |
Thanks Qsilver. I actually have that complete file and it shows (page 20) the GM3 going into the ECH...... So I am now scouring the GM trace file trying to find something related to the air suspension. Do you think I'm on the right track?

Subscribed! Would love to be able to drive over 25mph in the lowered setting, without the ECH2 module raising the car back to standard ride height. I've gone through the whole GM3 trace file though and didn't notice that option anywhere. I'll keep checking here for updates.

The vehicle now is lowered 19mm at all settings. Off road mode is all most "normal" now. We want to be able to raise the vehicle to this modified level (which is right at stock normal height) and be able to drive it like that and at the same time be able to put it back to normal (slammed) via the dash switch. |
Not going to be able to be coded. Intrax used to sell a module which overrode it but they are no longer made.
find a height you like to drive at normally and keep it there. |

If someone found something to over ride, great! We need to figure out what they are over riding. There is obviously a signal coming from another module that is telling the EHC to activate. That being said, this is happening at a certain value, which in my eyes, this would have to be programmed somewhere.... |
I would email Intrax then, if it was as simple as coding a module out, they wouldn't have success selling it for $700+ back a few years ago.
There has to be something plugged in-line with the ECU and/or the GM between it and the module resisting the signal. I'm optimistic, but its been talked about before but never accomplished.....yet. Here is the Intrax manual so you can get a feel of how its piggybacked into the module.. http://www.dvs-one.com/4sale/ICM-20.6.103.pdf |
This would be the company in the Netherlands?
700 bucks a few years ago? Thinking out loud here and trying to boost my optomisism... There are piggybacks and add on modules people pay hundered's for today to increase HP on an engine, yet you can obtain the software and most of the how to knowledge for FREE, but maybe only 1-2% of the gear heads do this... |
