If you don't hear "clack clack clack" sound during a turn, then chances are the CV joint is still OK.
As mentioned by others, better to use Stock or GKN CV joint. You can: - remove the axle and disassemble both CV joints, clean them, dry them - Then new GKN grease + boots As a rule, CV joint will easily last some 400K if the boot is not torn open. There is a VW Jetta driver who religiously replaces the CV Boot every 60K no matter what ("pre-emptive strike"), his CV joint was still good at 400K miles. CV Boot prevention is the key. |
