You got into a pissing match with someone over owing them 40 bucks or something. The guy ended up posting a picture of you. You looked barely over 30, but who knows nowadays with lipo sucktion and all. Anyway was that you? Do you really have 40 years of driving under the belt?

That was user "beamertruck" not trader4

Gotcha. Makes sense for the most worry free out of town motoring.

I like to "drive the wheels off" our cars (drove a 28yo e30 with ~400,000 miles on it out of town just last month) and we purposely bought the e53 as our out of town travel vehicle. Hence my preventative schedule for the tank and other cooling system components. Each individual's use case scenario can help to form their maintenance practices/habits.

the BMW expansion tanks and window regulators are crap. So, in
typical fanatic fashion, you try to turn that into me saying the vehicle
is more headache than function/pleasure. Get over your emotional
adolescent love of the car. It's just another product. There isn't
anything I've owned that I've been so in love with, that when anyone
makes any negative comment about any part of it, I felt the need to
go out, twist their words and attack. Grow up.

Well, I guess you found me out.

700hp Vipers and ZR1s in the stable, yet I "love" a 12 yr old BMW.

crystalworks 10-19-2015 05:03 PM

^I wish I could fit in a viper (I'm 6'8"). Or a vette for that matter. My buddy brings his C5 over and I have a hard time even backing the damn thing out of the driveway. I've driven it only a couple of times but was so uncomfortable it was not enjoyable. Even with the 500whp on tap. :(

Dodge has a kit to mount the seats about 3" lower.

A FL Viper club member installed Sparco seats to fit inside. There's tons of legroom, at 6' 1", I can't reach the pedals with the seat slid back.

OK guys, time to stop
The thread is antifreeze not owners and parts life. They are both short...

Close this one down.

FYI, someone that originally said he has not had an expansion tank failure is now saying it is crap.

Trader 4 is off his meds again.

question that was asked and which I answered. Crytalworks then chimed
in with his actual shop experience of tank failures. It was then that
I said they were crap. And for those of you who can't understand the
difference, I said the tanks were crap, not the whole vehicle. And then
I was attacked with the false strawman that I was somehow blaming
the tank when the real cause was a blown head gasket. That was
totally wrong, Crytalworks made it clear that *his* post about that
failure was as it was written, ie that the tank failed and then the
owner continued to drive the car, causing the further damage.

IF you want to find who's off their meds, trying going to that poster
or the buffoon that just accused me of being some other poster I
never heard of. Just the facts. The problem is that you BME diehard
junkies can't take any negative comment about a single component.
It's like a cult.

Hey man my bad. I'm sorry. No need to call me a bafoon.
