Auto on the X, manual on the M. But the ebrake gets set regardless of tranny as I hate putting unneeded excess stress on the parking pawl - OCD I guessed

Tightening up the handbrake on my manny tranny X is on the list of to do's. Takes an obscene amount of clicks to get it to hold

I don't think we're talking about the same thing. The nuts that you're referring to is relatively easy to access by removing the boot. The bolt that I needed to tighten is the one that holds the entire ebrake assembly to the car

^Oh I know what nuts you are referring to that bolts it down, the fine tuned bolts with the cables are different.
