i've been quoted 3500 to replace valve stems on N62 engines by a local shop in federal way.

I'll be doing it myself when the time comes using the AGA tool. no blue smoke yet but i'm creeping up to 120k miles. sooner or later they will be due.

Are you planning to rent the AGA tool?

I was planning on buying it. they go for approx. 700 used on ebay, I found a local guy on craigslist but he's asking $8xx. we have 3 N62's in the family so it will be a nice tool to have around when it is needed.

I have one N62 so if you're so inclined, I could borrow the tool from you when not in use for a fee if you wish. Willing to give a deposit to protect your investment. Thoughts? Other locals probably would be interested too, I don't know. But I can handle the work for seal replacement.

Guys, how about we list what uncommon tools we locals have and then we can borrow from each other when available? We probably could also pool resources if we really need a rare tool.....I'm thinking stuff like rear subframe bushing removal tool, timing tools, etc. Kinda create our own tool borrowing system that we ourselves contribute to the tool collection ...... thoughts?

That's not a bad idea. Would probably work better as a Seattle BMW facebook group, that way we get more people.

Need some help here guys! No tire shops I've checked with locally will install spacers on my wifes E70 so I can mount up her 128's...any ideas? I already have the H&R spacers in hand...

Have you thought about doing it yourself? Tire shops typically (around here anyway) wont touch spacers.

I may have to! I'm waiting for my buddy to be available with Jack, etc. and may just need to pull the trigger!
