Anyone in the NE with an auto transport trailer they need in Texas?
Or someone with a trailer in TX that would rent at a reasonable rate? U-Haul wants around $750 for a one way NJ to TX rental, not happening. I could buy a used one for a little more! After over a year of owning the E Class, I am finally getting up to NJ to haul it to Texas. |
Why not fly up one way to Newark, take an Uber to your mom's? I think it was - and then drive back one way?
We should be clear of winter weather up here after next week - |
Flying into Newark is another option (I drove the car for the 2 weeks I was up there last month, left it at the in-laws house in Morristown).
Really want to go thru the vehicle and change all fluids/belts/hoses before a 1500 mile road trip. |
Have you checked with Reliable transport to see if they have a truck already scheduled to come this way?
|
I looked into that option, around $800 open, over $1000 enclosed.

I'm only 20 mins away - let me know if you need any help from a forum brother! |
Thanks RB.
I could have the in-laws drop it at Morristown MB (between them, my parents, and four brothers/sisters, there have been around a dozen MBs purchased/serviced there). The car has an overdue major maintenance alert showing, don't want to pay the dealer or an Indy for a major service. |
Well then they must have a good relationship over there - just shoot me a holler if you need anything give me a decent heads up -
|
There SHOULD be a good relationship, yet the lowball trade-in value that triggered my purchase of the car! :dunno:
|
My guess is if you put a value on your time, the cost of the trip and the risk and anxiety that the tow vehicle or the trailer will have a problem 50 miles from help Reliable would be a value. Planning to tow it with your X5?
