How much are you thinking of towing? I know there's one member hauling an airstream with the 3.0 and another with an over 20ft boat. I don't have any trouble maintaining 80mph with a Thule rooftop carrier and a 1300 pound PWC&trailer behind.

Im not sure in pounds as we use metric but by the time ive got the car, trailer, spare wheels, tools etc im going to up around the 2200 - 2400kgs (2.2 - 2.4 ton).

I've used my 3.0d to pull a trailer with 3cu.m of firewood - probably up around 750kgs (0.75 tonne), so the total vehicle weight is well over 3,000kgs (3 tonne). It drove up pretty steep hills like there was nothing on the back - I was amazed.
