Running Boards

So I have an opportunity to get some running boards from a guy up in Winnipeg for $225. He's parting out his X. Is there anything else I need besides the running boards?

I think you need the wheel arches too (black plastic).

^Correct. You need all the wheels arches along with the aluminum running board. Real OEM has different part number for them; with and without running board.

Is he by chance willing to part out other parts as well, would you be able to know? I need to replace mine, part number 51137170840. the trunk lid grip

Do you think I can contact the seller too?

yes, you'll need the running boards, the four wheel arch's, and the lower plastic covers for the running boards, there are a series of clips too, they are cheap new, but if you can save the old ones, better for ya!! you will also need a few 'body rivets' that hold the arches to the body. they are sort of a one time use part! (and cheap too!!)
it took me about an hour to do both sides of mine, I pulled out each and every rubber plug too and cleaned them along with the running boards and the arches. I think there is a FAQ in the how to section.
good luck.

You may need a new front right wheel arch to go with those boards - it looks damaged in the picture of the smashed X - but everyone is right, 2 lower panels that run along the bottom, 4 wheel arches, 2 aluminum RB's, and 2 long thin sections that cover the top mounting bolts -

I just went through this myself getting a used set, I was missing the right side lower sill which I got from a seller on Ebay from the UK ($120) - the wheel arches should be around $140 apiece I believe

Just to help you out here is the hardware you need to fit them (I paid about $50 for all from dealer)

07 11 9 915 093 -- HEX BOLT WITH WASHER ----- 18
51 11 1 944 537 -- EXPANDING RIVET ---------- 20
51 71 7 002 953 -- BLIND RIVET -------------- 26
51 71 8 267 301 -- CLIP --------------------- 4

I believe the #7301 CLIP only comes in Qty 10 packs so I had to buy a 10 pack, and one of the types of rivets as well - so I had to buy a few extra clips and rivets but I paid $50 for all hardware

Hope that helps

RB, you got some boards! Used but OE at least.

I'm actually thinking of taking my running boards off and might be interested in the no-running-board parts! :)
