BT retrofit, but where is the harness???

Hello,

I already read the retrofit thread: https://xoutpost.com/articles/all-bm...03-bmw-x5.html

But mine 06 4,8is doesn´t have the 54Pol connector for the ULF... But the one for the BT antenne.

I thought every car is pre-wired? And why does my car have the connector for the antenna while the connector for the ULF is missing?

It´s a italian car without any telephone options.

You may want to do a bit more google/internet searching for the BMW TCU. The later e53s got a BT module that is referred to as a TCU (instead of the older ULF). I believe the TCU units don't require an old telephone hook up.

My 2006 4.4 (12/2005 build date) has the newer BT module and I have no BMW phone components. There is no pairing button in the center console...I just needed to turn the ignition on...and there is a short period of time that the vehicle is visible to BT pairing devices.

Maybe...

But when I check my VIN there is no option with telephone/Bluethooth/telephone preparation or something else. There is no possibility to connect over BT to my car.

So there is no harness in my car for the ULF or TCU.

I´m little bit surprised, because I read somewhere here in the forum that every car has the necessary harness for BT.

I have only the cable for the BT antenna... no connector for ULF or TCU.

When you lift the cargo floor to expose the spare tire well...where you can see the plastic pieces that are surrounding the area of the tire...did you remove the plastic piece that is on the far left and butts up to the left cargo panel where all the electronics sit? If you remove that piece (where you'd be accessing the BT module...is that were you can't find the harness to the
TCU/ULF module?

Starting with a 10/04 build date..all e53s (at least in the US market) with the option pkgs below came standard with the new BlueTooth (BT) TCU module (premium pkg and BMW Assist):

Yes, I took a look there.

There is only the connector for the BT Antenna, but no connector for the ULF or TCU.

Hmmm, perhaps you don't have the harness. I don't see option S639A which means that the vehicle is prepped for BT even if you don't have the phone installed (my case).

In my option list...it has the option below listed:

  • S639A Preparation f mobile phone cpl. USA/CDN
