Recommend a good Winshield shop

Does anyone know of a good winshield shop in and around Queens/Long island New York area? I live in Baldwin, Long island.

Most of the Safelite shops are good. Just make sure you know what glass you need and that they order the right seals

Would these places know to order the correct glass or I have to provide my own? I have the Saint GObain Sekurit brand.

U going through insurance or what ....
Depends on $$ at the end of the day if you want the roundel for the roundel factor..
Glass coverage on insc. Most carriers at least in Gothan state will cover generic, especially given the age of the vehicle.

If you go through a bodyshop to you your glass done, they have ways......to get OEM covered under glass...it's really going to boil down to both the installing shop and the haggle factor

I'm paying out of pocket. And would like the original or better put in. When I say better I don't mean those comfort glass. Just the same as what's in the truck or better quality that won't break that easily. I don't have those comfort glass presently.

I just got a quote from Safelite for 328, but I'm not sure if it's original glass they'll use. I did it on their website.

SG, PPG, Pilkinton - really luck of the draw, I suppose.
Best served by just calling the glass shops you choose to get more in specificity.

Safelite replaced my windshield 3 times, 3 different days with 3 new pieces of glass before my rain sensor worked.
They ended up ordering a BMW windshield.
All handled under insurance and Safelite did not give up until I was happy.
I got a UV coated BMW windshield that the tech said is like wearing $1000 sun glasses (must be the comfort glass).
one drawback is that my gate opener (garage door remote) does not work as far distance then it did.

I went to TOuch of Glass. The job was ok. Quick installation. Had a little issue but it's resolved
