CCV diaphragm
I have a 2003 with M62 engine.
I would like to replace my CCV, but wondering if I can just buy the orange diaphragm? Looks a lot easier to pop off the old and replace. I'm more familiar with the N62 engine than my M62 |
Good day!
I agree the N62 is a lot better than the M62... There aren't any orange diaphragms on the M62... It is tucked away at the rear of the intake... See here... RealOEM.com - Online BMW Parts Catalog So... Little more involved... Good luck!! Cheers!! |
Hmmmmm
I saw a YouTube video where a guy pops off the cover to expose the
orange diaphragm. He then replaces it with new diaphragm. Total time including sip of beer...... 10 minutes. Did he buy a new assembly and just rob the diaphragm? |

I'm gonna do a search for that video... Maybe BMW used the same Orange diaphragm for both... But just made it more accessible on the N62... I think it is located in the back of this cover... RealOEM.com - Online BMW Parts Catalog Thanks for the heads up!!! Cheers!!! |
Most who do that, buy the whole OEM assembly, rob the cap and diaphragm from the new and replace it on the old cover. They normally don't go to the hassle of removing the diaphragm from the cap and replace onto the old. If you do this, just make sure the spring inside is properly aligned or you'll be doing it again and again until correct.
