That dealership has another 4.8is for sale, how was your experience with them?

After selling my E53, I already have an itch to get one back!

My experience was great. They really went the extra mile to replace everything that needed replacing ie: 2 bags, belts, pulley, suspension compressor and tires. The one thing that died about 4,000 miles after getting home was the valve body in the transmission. Knowing what I know now about these cars is the transmission is a weak spot, and can go at any mileage, so I'm not surprised or upset about it. I still love the car. :)
That silver car you have linked, has more interior wear than mine does, even though it's 2 years newer and 2k less miles they have it priced less, and it's probably for that reason. As long as it's mechanically sound, you should be good to go. Also they will arrange a PPI for you, I had one done.

Good to hear.
Yeah the iS transmissions have always been a weak spot on these things. Congrats on the pick up, she's a rare bird. I'll keep you in the loop on another car meet in the spring down in the DC area

haha I want to get back into one, but most likely won't be for another year. I am also heavily leaning towards a 3.0i after dealing with an 4.6 last year. Love the iS models, they are just high maintenance broads. But it would be hard to pass up on a nice looking 4.8iS if there is one in the future

[emoji23]. The 3.0 has the right appointments but the drive feel is totally different. You’ll be missing the feel and acceleration of the V8.

119,000+ miles on transmission. Have changed fluid and filter every 50,000 miles or so. Use ZF fluid and filters. Only transmission mod was Dinan trans software at 2,500 miles and temp sensor about a thousand miles ago. Dinan engine mods also done at 2,500 plus meth and nitrous about 4 years No problems. Transmission has not been a weak link for me.

I am almost certain you are literally the only person on this forum to NOT have transmission woes  Every other thread is a transmission question.

Even if every other thread was about transmission problems, we should never draw any conclusions without considering the mileage, care and the driving environment of each X5. In addition, the total number of forum members is not enough to draw any conclusions from the total number of X5s out there. I don't know about you but I haven't done that so I am not saying you are wrong. I am saying there is not enough apples to apples information here to make a declaration one way or the other. Further, IMO, there are lots of questions about transmissions because so many of us don't have experience troubleshooting or DIYing transmissions.

You can make fun of my post all you want, your logic will still be flawed.
