Post your favorite rear ball joint tool!

As the title suggest, I’m in the market for a rear ball joint tool. Please post your favorite/s even if you’ve just borrowed it or rented. TIA!

There really only two options
The tools designed for E53/E39 and the universal ones that fit nothing well and wil make the job painful. There are hundreds of posts on those who chose the latter.
Make the choice that fits the outcomes you want. Not the price that will make you hate the "deal" you got.
Then again it's your pain......
My recommendation
https://www.amazon.com/CTA-Tools-869...all+joint+tool
Or
REAR AXLE CARRIER BALLJOINT KIT B334191 [B334191] : Baum Tools Specialty Auto Tools, Specialty European Auto Tools
Both are designed to do the job correctly while saving your sanity

I think that's the tool I bought to do the rear chunk bushing in my e46. Worked great if is. Allowed me to change the bushing without removing the rear end which most choose to do.

The universal tool will NOT work on the e53. An e53 specific tool is required or as some have done, a modified universal tool. There is a bolster on the wheel carrier that is in the way of a round removal tool. The tool needs a flat spot.

I think there's also a chinese knock off available on ebay.

Were both amazon links supposed to be the same?

Wish I'd known that when I bought mine.

If you look at the picture that is linked you'll see the flat spot I was talking about. If the tool doesn't have it, it won't work on the e53.

Looks like the BAV auto tool has it as well. Great information! Thank you.
