I ordered the parts today, I will also do the valve cover gaskets and maybe the alternator bracket since everything is apart now.

Yep, the alternator gasket goes with absolutely no warning. Everything was good and I pulled into Wawa one morning and just heard the oil pouring on the ground when I got out of the car. Doing it all at once makes sense. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |
I don't have a N62 but as I understand it the bimmerfix takes care of the front seal for the coolant pipe but not the rear. If you've already taken everything apart why not replace the rear pipe gasket?

Damn it, I Can't believe how much trouble I'm Having with the Valve cover gaskets, first I broke the valvetronic sensor on the driver's side when I was taking of the valve cover, then It was such a headache to put driver's side valve cover back, it is easier to take the Manifold out again than risk breaking the Valvetronic sensor again, when I finally got all done with the driver's side, I broke one of the bolts in the back of the Passenger side now I have to figure out a way to drill it out something,

Any ideas?

I usually use a Dremel with Emery wheel and cut a slot then use impact tool to turn.

It worked!!! Thanks a lot. |
Hot dawg! From the picture it wasn't clear if any stud was where you could reach. That trick also works when you don't have the right bit. Eg don't have a T-20 convert to a flat screwdriver. (Or when stripped)

This project did not go as I expected, after Finally getting the broken valve cover bolt out, I turns out I lost one of the nuts that Hold the valve cover.
I been waiting for over a week to get the part from Pelican Parts. In the mean time I decided to put everything back together and when I pressure tested the system It turns out I have an air leak coming from the pipe that goes from the valley pan to the water pump.:dunno::dunno::dunno: |
