I'll be continuing to search for the cause of my idle dip and do the preventive mod to the door carriers. But also :

- Alingment (went bad when changed the lower arms)
- Vanos solenoid gaskets (I have them but its too cold to dive in right now)
- Headlight renovation (not too bad but could be better)
- Changing the xenon bulbs
- replacing my driver side inner door handle (trim tab holders broken and light holder broke)
- replace driver's door card clips (most are broken)
- Maybe do wheel bearings preventatively
- Find how to mount extra driving lights for the arctic circle trip
- complete steam cleaning of the leather and carpets (spring summer)
- nice outside detailing (spring summer)
- Figure out if I have the remote module for the auxiliary heating and find either a remote or a complete kit.
- Full transmission fluid change

In spring or summer, I might go for the timing chain and vanos rebuild since I have no idea if and when it was done.

On the fun side :
- Take the car to an ice track if I can to figure out its sliding style
- Do some more offroading (with range rover backup, I'm still not fully convinced the X will not get stuck)

As soon as the doors won't freeze open or shut..... Which this time of year is constant.

I've owned over 70 vehicles in my life, and this is easily the worst one I've ever owned as far as needed parts and repairs and endless window regulator/door handle carrier replacements.

I only paid 10k for it a while back and wouldn't be surprised if I have 7k into parts and repairs. If I was to add it up I'd be depressed for a week.

I've done all of the front control arms twice in 65000 miles. Valley pan twice, crossover pipe twice, rear control arms and airbags. 5 alignments and it eats rear tires in 5-7000 miles.

I like it when it's running and driving good. But that seems to be a rarity.

Don't bother buying a lottery ticket.

Plans for 2018

Things that are sitting and need to be installed:
-front and rear 4.6is lip kit (needs to be painted)
-Brush bar under front of 4.6is kit
-Aluminum running boards
-with front and rear fender extensions

Looking to purchase:
-Purchase Stoptech rear BBK to match the fronts
-Purchase Depo P53's headlights with angel eyes and replace the projector/shroud with something better
-Do an x-pipe and replace piping from cat to axle back, I installed an Eisenmann exhaust and it didn't make as much noise as I was expecting.
-Ceramic window tint

Needs fixing:
-Windshield is cracked, having a nightmare with insurance replacing with factory polarized glass.
-Rear wiper not making full contact on glass
-Whining noise from headunit/sound system
-Many drafts/air leaks, replaced a few rubber seals, but none of them helped.
-Driver side heated seat is very hot on left corner, burning almost.

If you find a fix for the nuclear seat heater in that spot let me know. Mine is doing it.

I would try replacing the metal hog rings with plastic zip ties. I replaced the heat pad but as I did I noticed it might have been the hog rings causing the problem.

I promise to replace my air bag control module in 2018. I’m just so tired of looking at the Air Bag warning light. I do like Dblock2151’s idea of fixing draft/air leaks. I could really use that one before the next family road trip! Maybe I should make two resolutions, if the repair bills don’t get too high by June...... we’ll see [emoji848]

Finished the following, got to them early:

1. replaced valve cover gaskets
2. Powder coated valve covers
3. Replaced plugs
4. Replaced CPS seals
5. Replaced Vanos seals
6. Replaced coil boots
7. Install Dinan CAI
8. Checked and prepped brake lines for rust (after 4 years glad I did was obviously starting again)

Think thats it, havent decided if Im gonna do drain and refill of transmission and gaskets/filter yet.

My '02 Vette Vert, Z51, 6 Spd...bought it new in May 2002.

~65,000 miles, from many road trips inc a 13,000 mile 33 state/6 Provinces of CDA, 3 month trip a few summers ago.

Trunk holds 2+ sets of golf clubs, and room for lots of luggage, rolls down the road getting 28 - 30 mpg, big A/C and heat, fun to drive, almost as fast as my m'cycles, carves turns, etc.

The stuff that has broken or glitched in 16 yrs can be counted up on a few fingers of one hand... Other than tires, brake pads, coolant change, oil changes, et al, it simply runs and is BigFun! Best car I have owned since I had 'cars', circa 1964.
