My '02 Vette Vert, Z51, 6 Spd...bought it new in May 2002.

~65,000 miles, from many road trips inc a 13,000 mile 33 state/6 Provinces of CDA, 3 month trip a few summers ago.

Trunk holds 2+ sets of golf clubs, and room for lots of luggage, rolls down the road getting 28 - 30 mpg, big A/C and heat, fun to drive, almost as fast as my m'cycles, carves turns, etc.

The stuff that has broken or glitched in 16 yrs can be counted up on a few fingers of one hand... Other than tires, brake pads, coolant change, oil changes, et al, it simply runs and is BigFun! Best car I have owned since I had 'cars', circa 1964.

That's on our shopping list now.

I have an 87 convertible now with a 383 stroker. Wife's scared of it. It doesn't have a very nice personality for daily driving.

We took it on our last anniversary outing and packing our stuff in it was a nightmare to say the least. No trunk like yours and everything had to go in the cubby hole the top normally folds down into. Not fun.

C5 convertible will be added soon for sure. Last of the real door handles :)

Monster!
C5s, in very good shape, are a relative bargain now...I love our Vert, as it is almost like riding one of my m'cycles, but 'easier for me' as I hit the 70.

Huge trunk, and nearly bulletproof. Have driven several C7s, but trunk is smaller and interior is tighter/wheel closer. Odd, and loaded with gizmos, most of which I could not care less about. They are brutally fast, however.

Our Ol'X is my 2nd Fave and has been a helluva car.

Apology for the OT... ;)

Love both of those 'vettes. Might as well throw ours in there too... I don't get to drive it but I do control all the electronics on it. 875 HP, 207 MPH in Daytona...

Did you ever get tempted to replace the DME on our cars with a meaner version?

No not really. Engine controls, data and video acquisition are certainly my business but with the street cars and all the other modules that need to be in the CAN message loop, the CAN messaging .dbc files are never easy to find and to sit down and decipher all the messages on the bus, it would be far too much work for little gain. I have more fun tweaking the existing factory electronics on the BMW.
