Hello everyone, I'm currently trying to diagnose what happened to my X5. I was finally able to hook her up to INPA but I am new to it and even worse the errors I was able to collect are in German...

So I need help to interpret this, not sure if the program can be set to fully English...

Anyways, for the background on this car. well, the latest because it has a long history, well she was doing great, taking daily trips of about 140 miles, DAILY, she was doing great until one morning, she would start like normal but once you pressed the accelerator it would stall and shut down... to make everything worse Hurricane Maria came right in the middle of me diagnosing this (I believe it was the Throttle Body). The car had the Throttle Body off and water got in the motor... and even worse the next day they opened the doors to the Dam and flooded our town, on the X5 the water level reached about door level on the driver's side and a couple inches higher on the passenger side. It also did get water inside from lowered windows due to bad window regulators AND from the flood the engine had a ton of water, my brother took a video of them draining the oil pan and water came out for at least 30 seconds, then came the oil.....

that's how she sits now, they took out the water in the cylinders too...

BUT for now, I would just like to know what she had in memory from before the Hurricane.

Also, if the vehicle switch is ON with engine OFF should I see the Throttle Body change if I press the gas? when I saw on INPA the Pedal TPS was reading more and more when I pressed the gas but the Throttle Body didn't move at all... can someone confirm this?

Yikes. Ok, so google translator is going to be your friend on this. There are numerous modules that are Nicht passiv which means they are not active. Which means they are not communicating.

What is your plan with this? try to get her back together and running back to normal again or is this just for your curiosity?

From how you mentioned with the amount of water this took in... you may be have to replace a lot of the modules. Not only that, with that amount of water in the engine, not running... you may also have problems with corrosion inside the engine. If you do, that engine doesn't have much life left in this world.

I hope you are carrying on ok down there. I know its been tough considering all the BS you guys have been through. Hopefully it is getting better. Good luck.

Yes, it should move. If terminal 15 is on, meaning KOEO, the Throttle body should correlate with the throttle position sensor.

about the engine, I was thinking an engine flush might help... hopefully. I want to get her running again, I need a second car and this one was what I was using and my wife would use our other car (Mazda5) but now its just one vehicle and it is so complicated for daily work and school and other stuff.

to be honest the flooding part dont think its as bad as it sounds... I know the ECU is completely dry, and apart from that most are pretty high up... but not really sure.

and as for the Hurricane, we are doing ok, some have had it even worse than us, and on my moms house, where the X5 was, the whole house flooded with about 2 feet of black water inside the house, including flooding a 2011 Dodge Charger, a 2007 MB SL550, 2004 325Ci and a 2000 Dodge Durango. most of the furniture was ruined and just about anything that wasnt on a shelf, appliances too. at least we still had a roof, and FEMA also said we were good and gave us nothing.... but thats another story...

well on the PWG it moved when pressed but the MDK
stayed the same... is that normal? I also saw a video of someone doing this and with the car running it had the same behavior.

translated files... easier to read... obviously this car was tried to start on several times so may have more things from what it would have had before the hurricane.

Ok lets see here. Its hard to decipher whats new to whats old because it doesn't not log date data.

I re-read your first post, from what I understand, you have not started the X, you were just looking for the faults before the hurricane came through.

Is the throttle Body assembly put back together?

But lets go from the top. What is the X doing right now? Is it running, not running?

If not running, when you are hooking up to the X, are you working straight off battery power or have a charger to the X?

If it is running, what is the X doing?

Ok. Let me start with before the hurricane. It would start no problem but as soon as you pressed the gas pedal it would stall and turn off.

During the hurricane it didnt have the throttle body on... So water got in it everywhere... The motor someone else cleared all the water and loosened her up... It was stuck. But they were able to free her and crank. But no spark...

Now... It is stuck again... Im trying to free her... Fuel is working. Oil now has a fuel smell... Havent been able to check compression. But as soon as I can free the engine I will test...

All test have been done with a topped up battery and ignition on. But again. Motor is currently stuck, I guess from rust build up due to the water...
