Actually I think Svodnik is right - straight out of the box, only Dynavin will work with DSP. As for the Android units, you'll need additional purchase of the USB IBUS interface and app from another vendor to light up DSP compatibility (cheap though at less than $200). Is that not so? See this thread https://xoutpost.com/bmw-sav-forums/...hread-128.html.

Of course, these Android units plus the IBUS apps is a better choice because they're still cheaper and are not proprietary systems like the Dynavin. The Dynavin is completely closed and you cannot install any additional software on it. You're stuck forever with whatever the system came with from factory. Compare that with Android systems where the cloud is your playground with thousands of apps at your disposal to install. It's a no brainer which head unit is the preferable one.

Guys, Eonon (android) does work with DSP and is plug & play. This topic has been covered many times over, just use the search function.

The Avant 3 fully supports DSP, as well.

There is also the ability with an android unit to connect the ibus via usb and then use a programme such as https://www.ibus-app.de/index_en.html
To return all computer read outs back to the instrument cluster if you have lost your mid with the new head unit.

This program will also give you coding of many functions in a fool proof manner from the head unit.

Dynavin as said by others is an expensive closed system that restricts a lot of possibilities, even a simple app like torque pro is denied to you.

Plenty of large 9 inch displays available now but for me the choice is to keep a more OEM look. There are ways and systems that will use the dsp or just remove that from the car.

Check the system you go with can control a separate sub woofer as well.

He ask for device which will work with factory DSP!!!
As to my knowing only DINAVIN will work with factory DSP and all other it will play sound for second and then stop.
Of corse there is other way to put MID contorler and radio modul etc etc.... but just to put media and work only DINAVIN

I have the Seicane unit working fine with DSP. My old radio is on the shelf. The cluster information is there via the IBUS app. I have the 9" screen model. It does not look the same as the original but is more like the size and look of state of the art screens.

Love the carbon fiber look on your dash trims. Did you use wraps or other method? How hard is it to do them?

Plus one on this question.

bcredliner That looks quite nice indeed. Have you also done the centre console around the stick and if so would you be kind enough to post some pictures?

I may well want to do this on mine and would love to see the effect first in full.

Thanks

Thanks, The trim, console, steering wheel trim, paddles, shift knob, parking brake handle are all real CF. Purchased the trim and console many years ago from UK. Bought the last set. Rest of the pieces I searched online until I found matches. As far as options, I added a picture of my hood which is wrapped and the engine cover which is hydro coated. Wrap has been on for 3 years and still looks new. I recently plasticoated the engine parts to match my wheels just for a change. Wraps are less expensive and can be a DIY project. Hydro coating is more expensive and is also very durable.
