Has anybody replaced all door side molding trim, had the roof rails powdercoated OE matte black or replaced the door gaskets on all 4 doors. I'm guilty of all above and then some.....I'm spending too much on trivial OCD details..

I am slowly waiting to see the G05 in person.

I saw 7 this week alone in SoCa. All very clean, none a 4.8is-itself rare.

I have 7 some of them for parts , (plus bunch of facelift 2003-06 parts)

Fairly new poster, but not new to the brand I can agree with all of you. I have 2 4.6is and a e38 msport. Between both models I can say the e38 is more rare to see on the road than a e53. However e53 variant wise....mostly 3.0s maybe a 4.4 here or there. I've only seen one 4.8 which belongs to a friend in orange county NY and my 2 4.6is are the only ones Ive seen locally.

I have been wondering this same thing for some time... I did the BMW Performance Driving School here in Spartanburg, SC... All the new cars I drove are absolute amazing, and it makes things more clear why the E53 owners are moving on to bigger and better things... Living so close to the plant that produces new versions, I see more and more new ones on the road... But the used ones need to go somewhere, and they usually end up on the used lots in the area...

I still have all of my V8 powered E53's... I have since given up on Whitney and the big parts will be swapped over to another similar year sport model of a better color needing such items (engine, trans, transfer case, diffs, yada yada yada)... I need to do the cluster rebuild on Red's 4.6is cluster... It is trying to tell me something that I can't read, and as such I have refrained from driving it until I can figure out what it says... All the rest are still on the road... Even Whitney still starts and moves, but only to keep things moving and lubed until a replacement vehicle can be located...
