Leak from pipe on the back of the water pump
Hello folks,
I have a leak from the small pipe on the back of the water pump, visible from the top standing and looking over the motor. Done a lot of reading and research, and need some reaffirmation that the part I need is in the link below...is it called the heater return pipe or transfer pipe? https://www.amazon.com/URO-Parts-111...ZR5VJEKD46DNKE Not this one right? https://bimmerfix.com/?product=bimme...b0f8a39bf.kw26 Thanks in advance! |
Actually I think i found the right one...
https://www.pelicanparts.com/More_In...iABEgJYpfD_BwE I think the two above are the same thing, just different brands, this is how confused i am lol |
I think this is the pipe

Here's the image from RealOEM - so is it part #1 or #4?
https://www.realoem.com/bmw/images/diag_1v0x.jpg https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...diagId=11_3275 The thread you linked to is about replacing #1, as are some of the links to the parts... |
#4
Seems like I should be able to just replace the O ring |
Updating for future researchers
I replaced the O ring (part #5 as pictured above) and the leak is sealed, there was no need to replace the pipe, saved a lot of time and money. Don't forget to buy a water pump gasket, or replace the water pump all together if you haven't yet when doing this job (mine's fairly new so there was no need) |
Great job - glad it turned to be cheap/simple - ideal!
