Car Pro Launcher help
I installed Car Pro Launcher (or Car Launcher Pro?) on my Avin the other day and cannot figure out how to change the default screen icon arrangement. My screen has two larger icons up top and a host of small icons across the bottom, which I added. I can add/delete/rearrange the small icons I added but cannot figure out how to change the default large icons that take up half the screen. It has Bluetooth on the left and "time of arrival" on the right. I have no idea where it's even coming up with time of arrival!?
I will try to add a picture as I know that's helpful. Thanks |

Another set of post installation questions:
Car is a 2005 UK-spec X5 4.8is with Nav and DSP. The radio I installed is from Xtrons; it's the PE9853BIPL with the large format display and no knobs or conventional buttons on the front. The more modern look and brighter display do modernise the interior a bit which is good. I can't get the Resler IBus app to display the car's oil temperature - it's always blank. All other engine values seem to display OK. There is an oil temp gauge in the dash which is getting oil temp from somewhere. Any ideas how to get the Resler app to "find" the oil temp? In playing around with the fader settings I have discovered that no sound comes from any of the rear speakers. I've only had the car for some 9 months and I can't honestly say if the rear speakers ever worked. Any ideas where to start looking? I can temporarily reinstall the old head unit to see what happens. I'm getting to grips with Android again after having moved to Apple products perhaps 4 years ago. All going OK on that front. Am playing around with the Car Launcher Pro skin. |

As far as your fader, do not use the settings in the XTrons EQ settings. Set them all to flat including the fader and make any changes in the iBus EQ settings. |
Thanks for the quick reply. Have done as you said and the audio side is now working fine. Still no luck on the oil temperature though - have tried all the different methods. I see that I also don't get an oil level reading coming up so perhaps the sensor is bad or there's another setting that needs to be tweaked to read data from it.

Have sent Rolf in email some 10 days ago but no reply yet - might send him a chase. I did read in the FAQ or wiki that if the oil level sender is faulty no oil level or oil temperature information is available. And strangely the level sender is connected to the LCM (light control module).

And another issue that I'm having... I've installed the BBC Sounds app on the headunit and can't get past the startup splash screen. I think the problem is that the app will only run in portrait mode but the headunit only works in landscape mode. Rather than trying to zoom the app to the screen's height it's displayed full width and the bottom of the app is not displayed. There seems to be way to scroll the app up and down so I can't get to the login or register buttons. Any ideas?

Great idea - thanks. It shows a plausible value. |

Bought used 10.25" Xtrons PT1853B with Relser iBus (OBD+DSP license) locally. It's not fully installed yet, there is still little gap on the bottom, I'm still waiting for long antenna cable that runs from trunk to dash.
Overall, I like it. 18 years old car with current day technology. No major issues so far, but have few minor questions. 1. Since I got this with Resler iBus, do I need MK4 Navi and monitor anymore for odd reasons? I'm planning to remove them from the car and sell it off. 2. I usually play mp3 from USB. It plays fine, but after I shut off the car, then turn back on, mp3 doesn't resume from where it was off. Does anyone had this kind of issue? 3. From steering wheel, next/previous track button doesn't work. Volume control works fine, but not the tract button. Have anyone experienced it? |
