No the long loom is if you have nav or such. The normal business cd or tape you just plug into the factory harness in the dash. There isn't a long loom to run. As long as you don't have to cut the dash frame you can install an android radio in 15 minutes flat and start listening to music when its the business cd model.

Those are the line level outputs hanging loose, the factory installed amplifier gets speaker level input from both the original factory radio as well as the new aftermarket unit through the factory square plug seen in the pics.

Yep - exactly what I said (about line level outputs)

I'm going to need to study the wiring diagrams a little closely - this still makes no sense. In a NAV setup, the trunk mounted BM54 radio/amp is just that - a radio/amp. There is no second amp. So when you say "factory radio" what are referring to?

What?

If you lift the speaker wires OFF the factory amp and attach them to an android HU via a long loom, why would you have no audio...?

No the bm54 is the RADIO not the amp. The amp is in the cubby hole. When I put my seciane in I removed the bm54 since it wasn't needed but the amp is still in the cubby hole and is what powers the speakers.

There is still a separate amplifier on all our cars here. The BM54 just functions as a radio tuner and "audio gateway of sorts"

Kinda like what I have in my car - but in my case it's the speaker wires in the dash, not wiring running to a second amp.

But why put two power amps in series? That's just dumb...

That's also why you need the loom going to the rear on the nav cars. The signal that feeds the amp on nav cars comes out of the bm54 and goes to the amp so there are no speaker wires (source wires) going to the front of the car.

When you have a non nav aka business cd it has a set of wires going from the amp to the front of the car already because the radio is the in dash not in the back like it is on a nav equipped car.

Yeah, I get that (I do this sort of thing for a living!) but I still can't believe that the factory setup (in some cases) has two power amps in series.. no wonder it sounds like crap!

The OP's factory hifi amp is still in place and further amplifying the already high level signal coming from the Eonon unit. That is the likely point of distortion he is looking to solve.
