Is there a way to turn off mirror ducking when backing up?
Never get used to the passenger mirror point down on backing. Any way to defeat that function?

Nothing formal that I know of, but if you leave the mirror select switch on passenger it defeats a the tilt backup feature, flip it back to the driver mirror and it’s back [emoji106]

^What he said. It's the same on every BMW with the function. Leave adjustment switch on passenger mirror to defeat, driver's side to enable. I believe you can code the feature off entirely too. I think I remember seeing that option in Carly.
I love having the tilt down function for curbside parking (parallel and backing into spots w/ curbs on pass side). But I usually defeat it when pulling into the garage or the like when it is more important to see what's behind rather than down. |
Thanks. I’ll try that. I’ve got kids and dogs all over, rather not hit one.

I find the dip function perfectly useless. It literally points at what you just ran over.
I set a preset in my 3 position that is the same as 1 but with both mirrors dipped but about half what the factory design is. Now i can use useful dipped mirrors on demand only when I need and much less wear and tear on the motor. I keep the selector switch set to passenger side to prevent the useless factory dip. My wife leaves hers on. Coincidentally she also hits the curb more than me. Like I said. It's literally pointed at what you just drove into/over. I aim mine at the ground just behind the car I.e. what I'm just ABOUT to drive over.

Figuring out what I'm ab to hit is what I use PDC for. Well, that, the camera, and the ultra cool Android feature that shows the actual distance on the screen and MID. I love it! |
