Cut outs installed shouldn’t be too costly. I highly recommend using the brand bcredliner suggested, because it seems he’s had good results. You’ll save money if you do the actuation installation yourself. Cutting and welding may require an exhaust shop, unless you are a welder.

What sensors are you referring to?

I like it. Any intake mods or tuning to go with it?

RMS supercharger kit with a Vortech V3 blower, 10lbs boost, with a custom tune done on a track.

Then stop... ;)

The first step is to admit you have a problem... [emoji1787]

Dr. EOD, I’ve had this problem now for nearly 10 years... LoL..

I recommend a 12 grand program... [emoji848]

You can only add 12k of parts...

Of course sometimes a BMW is more like a 12 step program, take 12 steps away from the X and you'll find 13 problems..[emoji28]

I’m referring to, from at least what I understand the sensors that check the flow. My dad is someone who helps me figure some of this out and he said it’s kind of like a MAF but for the exhaust to make sure the car isn’t choking itself out.

I ASSUME an E46 330 and your x5 have the similar exhaust/muffler system where the flap inside in the dual tip opens only at certain RPM ranges to allow more air flow/better meaner sound... You can look inside your dual tips and see if the flap exists and or is closed. If you open it fully manually and put a golf tee in the vacuum line then you will like the sound more. But don't forget it IS just a 6cyl and will not bark like a 8 cyl

I do not think mine has the ability to golf tee mod it. I do not see anything that looks like what I’ve seen in videos. Can someone confirm that this is not possible?

The only downstream monitor that I'm aware of on our exhaust systems is the post cat O2 sensor. If you put your cutout in after that it shouldn't have any effect. The post cat sensor is just checking cat function.

Exactly. Also, the appropriate location to install the cut outs should on the exhaust tubing, not the manifold piping. I would install them post flange, but before the resonator.
