Ok so u reckon this would deffo be maybe the cause of all this even after everything I’ve changed?
I’ve done so far
Discs and pads
Steering rack
Tie rod ends inner and outer
Drive shafts both sides
Lower control arms both sides
Tracking done
Wheels balanced and checked for buckles
Brand new tyres on the front
Callipers checked both sides
Car doesn’t stop wobbling whilst braking
Only happens the second I hit 60mph
Right thru till 80 mph then kinda stops wobbling but not as bad

What X5 are we talking about here? You done the upper strut mounts?

Yes, there is a rubber bushing on the shaft under the dash. It is what you disconnect to get the SAS out.

Hah! My memory is shot. Did my sas last year and have no memory of a rubber bushing in there. :D

Good call on the CA Joe. I forget there are extremely cheap versions out there. Need to stop assuming people don't buy cheap suspension parts from eBay and Amazon. Usually previous owners.

Frank are the rest of the components you replaced of good quality?

Frank3188 03-24-2020 05:06 PM

Yes crystal works all of good quality all done by garage but the control arms was done very cheaply when I first brought the car

OP, an easy test is get up to the 65 to 75 mph wobble and if getting off the freeway, jump on the binders and see if the wobble is worse. If those bushings are weak, the wobble will increase.

Frank3188 03-24-2020 05:10 PM

I’ve tried that but wobble remains the same whilst applying the brakes

Need a little more than applying the brakes. Jump on them hard, nearly to the point of lockup and ABS intervention. Put the stress on those bushings.

Yes it goes over to left side on harsh breaking
Is a track control arm or
A lower track control arm
There’s 2 tyres on eBay?
Thanks
Frank
