xx3- the red brake light in the dash has two functions- tell you the parking brake is set, and tell you the brake fluid is low. The pad wear sensors only tell you that it is time to inspect the pads for wear.
Btw, with only one sensor per axle, it is possible to damage the rotors before the sensor turns on the message- ask me how I know!! |
Finally I had a chance to replace both sensors yesterday, but for some reason my trucks is still throwing the "check brake lining" and the red brake light is on.
I went to my brother house and borow his peake unit. The peake reported a few code, but none of them is brake related. Anyway I decided to reset all the code, and BAM its gone. Drove about 50 mileas last night and still no code re-appears. I thought the brake light should be able to reset it self when you install a new sensors... I guess I was wrong. Thx guys |
For future reference, here is an article on resetting the brake pad lining warning light - http://www.xoutpost.com/articles/x5/b...reset-diy.html
