Hi guys hope you are all keeping well, as above, went to VW dealer for some parts and after starting up the 3 lights were on and have been for 2 days now. Maybe it was pissed off that I was at VW.
Anyway drives perfect, no gear changing problems, put the Foxwell on it and got DSC57 High pressure switching valve Rear Axle: Connected INPA got fault 87 Precharge valve rear axle Left. Looked at live data and all wheel sensors are good. Fault doesn’t clear with either reader. Does this suggest that the DSC Module needs repair/replaced. Cheers in advance

Most likely the DSC module might need rebuilding.

Also, it's good you checked your wheel speeds reporting on all 4 wheels. You also need to check you SAS to ensure logical values are being reported.

There are also some other routines you can check the functionality of the DSC. You can check the pump by running one of the routines. Sometimes that motor seizes up and you have to get a whole new DSC hydraulic block since it's not really "serviceable" to rebuild.

Cheers for the reply, checked the SAS this morning and it seems ok. Not sure how other than moving the steering wheel and seeing the readings vary and come back to 0 in the straight ahead position. DSC, don’t know how to activate so some reading me thinks.

Yes, correct! I usually jack up the front axle and turn the steering wheel left to right [when checking SAS functionality]. (you dont need the engine on to do this since the front axle is unladen)

In terms of the DSC, look at all of your wheel speed and manually spin the wheels to see if they report logical data. Obviously if you turn one wheel, the corresponding wheel will turn at the same rate (granted you are in park and wheels are suspended).

Check the yaw sensor

So, update, went out this morning, it’s raining so quite cold and no lights. Went for a drive and after about 3 miles they come back on. Checked OBC temperature at 82c. Pulled into parking area and faults wouldn’t clear. A few hours later at home I was able to clear the codes also checked the pump worked. Yaw gave readings on the way home. So have decided to go with a module repair. My wife who knows absolutely nothing about cars. Said, isn’t that the same thing you had repaired before we moved to our present house. Doh, is that an indication I’ve fixed so much I can’t remember it all. Found the receipt and it’s a lifetime warranty. Bonus. I’ll call them Monday. Hopefully they won’t try to wriggle out.

To resurrect this, I sent the module of and they said they couldn’t find any faults but mentioned that they tidied up some soldering, anyway, refitted. All lights still on so called them up and told them I now had a different fault ie return pressure switch ?? Don’t know what or where that is. They suggested returning the module and pump. Took it all off and sent it back to them, two days later they phone and tell me the module is beyond repair but pump is ok?? Two choices, I can have my money back under the warranty £254 or they can source me another module £404 and it will have the lifetime warranty. May take them two weeks. I’ve gone for the second option as I get a warranty module for £150. Odd though how they sent my original one back with no faults and now it’s beyond repair.

Is unusual, especially after they had it apart far enough to “tidy up some of the soldering”.... That said, it’s probably a losing battle to argue with them, you probably picked the shortest path to driving your X again by opting for their lifetime warranty module.

Would be curious though, is yours identifiable enough that if they happen to fix and send back that you’d know it? I’m sure all’s we’ll but that is still odd - though I’ve sold allot of parts in my life and been yelled at more than once for something coming out of the box defective... actually used to have a saying “just because it’s new, doesn’t mean it’s good”...
