I'd consider Bilstein B4 struts and shocks (black color, OEM).
They can be had for under $500 and IMO Bilstein is the best overall quality. I have yellow B6 HD ones on my 4.6is and they're great but in your case B4 is the way to go since you need softer ones. I'd take your commute over what I do for living: Driving a 18 wheeler and dealing with people who think updating their status on social media is part of driving. Fortunately I only deal with them 3 days a week. |

Something else to consider, they may also require additional lubrication from time to time as they will collect debris from the road and with them being able to move in their “housing” they may squeak more than rubber... but they will last darn near forever.

Hi all
Thanks to the encouragement, I decided to drop some serious CDN Pesos on the B4's. Does anyone know of a vendor who offers a complete bushing kit? I have already done the rear sub-frame bushings, but suspect that rear diff mounts and front sub-frames are on the way out. Drawback is finding reasonable mechanic in my area. I had 2 quotes for well over $1k just to re & re the rear subframe bushings, a job I did in 2 hours in my driveway. :rolleyes: Now that I have the tool for that, I have considered offering a mobile re & re service so others aren't getting so royally screwd. cheers K |
