Nice looking car - great find!

Love the look of the Style 131 square set up - and they look to be in great condition, like the rest of the car.

Thanks for all of the kind words - it's nice to be back. And I forgotten how much I like E53's!

I had some time today to swap out the cluster backlight bulbs and give 'er a good once over. I really didn't find anything else wrong, except for a wonky lock actuator in the front passenger door. And all the batteries in the keys are dead. I made a key for the 4.6is and hopefully I can remember how I did it!

It looks like it's been cared for, with few signs of neglect - something I rarely see with the cars that I buy! It even looks like the cooling system has had some attention. The radiator has a 2018 date code and the belts look brand new.

I had ordered a cheap air intake tube (from the air intake to the filter housing) and fought for an hour with the POS to try to make it fit. I finally gave up and ordered an OEM one.

saving money when the part doesn't quite fit

I ordered a cheap one also, but used my Wagner heat gun to remold it to fit. https://xoutpost.com/1206821-post13736.html

I think about 300F good temp to remold thermoplastic.

I had a friend who hit a rabbit with his prius.

It inverted part of the bumper cover and it"set" with a nice dent.

Took the bumper cover off, set on cloth over sand then poured hot sand heated in a cast iron pot to about 330F.

It worked perfectly.

I've been slowly working through the minor issues with my X, but the damn panoramic sunroof has me stumped. I haven't been able to find any kind of comprehensive guide on how to fix the thing. It rattles like crazy - so bad that I don't even drive it anymore. I've tried all the "simple" fixes like velcro on the edges and stuffing a towel in it. Nothing makes even the slightest difference.

There is definitely something broken in the mechanism. I found little bits of plastic in the tracks, and it has the common problem where the rear glass panel won't retract on its own if it's opened. I kind of wish I had noticed that it has the pano roof before buying it - I might have passed it up, or at least asked the seller if it had problems.

I have seen a couple of online retailers offering repair kits, but there is no information on how to actually perform the repair. And it's not immediately obvious to me where the pieces go.

I would be eternally grateful to anyone who can guide me through this repair so I can enjoy the car!

I installed a crossbar on my roof rack and used a block of wood to hold it down.

Others have used clear silicone.

I don't think it's the glass. I can press on it with quite a bit of pressure with my hand and it doesn't make a difference. If the glass were rattling, that should stop it. It's coming from somewhere in the sliding mechanism.
