Previously i had the plastic protector installed on my x5. I took it off after a month because i found that the 4 clippers bite the paint surface. The teeth mark can be clearly seen.

If you go with an installer. Make sure they have lifetime warranty on their work. I went back after a month to have them redo the hood bra as couple of bubbles came near edges.

I got a price of $495 for the Hood, Fenders, Mirrors and Bumper, if I want headlights it is another $75.

Do people really put it on the bumper, since it is plastic and not painted?

This is on a 2006 X5.

I also had the deflector on my '02, but decided against the look (would blend better with black) so I ordered the 3M. We'll see how the install goes- looks like 3/5 stars on Xpel's site. Those pics in the linked thread are inspiring!!
PS- Michael- I didn't order bumper coverage, though I might since mine is color-matched/ painted. Will post pics after install...

I had my '01 done last Thursday. Hood, bumper, mirrors, headlights, foglights and headlamp washers. It cost $575 for mine. They also touched up 3 small rock chips for no cost as well. He said he spent 2 1/2 hours just doing the front bumper and headlamp washers. I think it looks great. You would have a hard time telling it was done but from the drivers door looking forward you can see the trailing edge on the hood. But I'm very pleased with it and I think it looks better than having a big ol' deflector on the car.
