Speaker problem but no amp - eek!
 

Hi,

I have a 2004 4.4 European X5. The only speaker that works is the right hand passenger door speaker.

I followed a few threads and looked for the amp in the back of the car. I have a CD changer but apparently no amp (see attached pic).

I was hoping to find a pinch point or dodgy connection at the (non existent) amp that caused all of the speakers to fail.

Can anyone offer a suggestion as to why all the speakers except one are dead and where the culprit might be?

Your BM54 (amplifier) is dead. It's under your spare wheel near the battery.

Many thanks SirHiss - I just removed the spare wheel and the fascia around the battery to reveal the unit.

I really appreciate the advice.
