OEM Windshield Eyebrow Tint

Hello Forum Friends,

I am replacing the windshield in my '03 X5 4.6is... The shop is telling me that from factory these cars came with a green tinted windshield eyebrow... I have searched around and cant find a good example...

Is anyone able to confirm this?

Thanks for any insight!

Give the "Climate Comfort" windshield glass for E53 a look..Safelite and just about any provider can get it...It reduces the greenhouse heat effect dramatically I am told...If/when I get a new windshield, I am going to look hard at the climate comfort version..

Clima comfort is OK but the difference in heat reflection is not that drastic.

I was able to acquire the OEM style green brow and the climate comfort glass.

I am in Phoenix, AZ where the temperature is currently 108F. I will report back after I have it installed next week.

I would have thought the climate comfort windshield would be a little darker...It looks pretty light.. I would confirm part numbers...on the glass...not particularly easy to do, I plugged in the numbers on the windshield and didn't see much...

With rain sensor, climate comfort windshield is BMW part# 51317064863

Without Rain Sensor, climate comfort windshield is BMW part# 51318408529

Per Real OEM

Easiest to check with polarised sunglasses. The IR foil will show as violet tint.
